Guillaume Thérien appointed as General Manager of Zú

Montreal, July 11, 2019 - Zú's Board of Directors has appointed Guillaume Thérien as General Manager to lead the organization in cultivating the same vibrant creativity, contagious leadership and business intelligence that customers will expect from Zú as soon as it opens in September 2019.

"We have opted for a fine balance between youth and experience, states Marie-Anne Tawil, Chair of the Board of Directors. Thanks to his curiosity and business acumen, Guillaume embodies the dynamism of the entrepreneurs we seek to propel. He will undoubtedly know how to create a community worthy of the ambitions of Zú: a stimulating technological environment as well as inspiring mentors and partners of choice that will provide our creators with the tools they need to succeed.”

Armed with a degree in finance from HEC Montréal, Guillaume is known for his collaborative approach and his ability to find innovative solutions. Moreover, over the past 15 years, he has positioned himself as a proven marketing strategist who adapts to the evolution of various clients and industries. He also worked at BMG and Sony Music before taking up the challenge of popularizing opera as Sales and Marketing Director of the Opéra de Montréal. He has also worked as part of the management teams of major companies such as TVA Group and Just for Laughs Group, as well as served on the boards of directors of Mutek, the Conseil québécois de la musique and Pop Montreal.

"I am honoured to continue promoting Zú. It’s a mobilizing project for Montreal and local creativity on a global scale," says Guillaume, who has been acting in an interim capacity since March. We want to address intellectual property (IP) issues with the goal of generating new businesses, promoting our culture, developing talent and creating collective wealth. Creators, visionaries, artists, entrepreneurs or strange birds: everyone is welcome at Zú to rethink and redefine entertainment,” adds Guillaume Thérien, General Manager of Zú.
